The South Island Card Show is an exciting new chapter for New Zealand’s trading card community. Building on the incredible success of Auckland Card Show, now the largest card show in the Southern Hemisphere, we are bringing the same energy, variety and community spirit to Christchurch in 2026.
Since its debut in 2024, Auckland Card Show has grown into a landmark event for collectors, hobbyists and trading card fans across Oceania. In 2025, more than 90 exhibitors joined us at Auckland Showgrounds, from international brands such as Dragon Shield and Legend Story Studios to leading local game stores and traders. Attendees discovered everything from rare sports cards and top TCGs including Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Flesh and Blood and Disney Lorcana to exclusive promos, live box breaks and major tournaments.
Now it is time for the South Island to experience the same buzz. The South Island Card Show will bring together collectors, players and vendors from across New Zealand for an unforgettable weekend of buying, selling, trading and play. Whether you are a seasoned collector or new to the hobby, our Christchurch event promises a welcoming atmosphere, premium exhibitors, thrilling stage events and the very best of the trading card world right here in the South Island.

Meet The Team
Steve Guinee
Steve started the Auckland Card Show after moving from Wales to New Zealand and discovering the strength of the local card community. His goal was to bring a US/European-style card show to the southern hemisphere, with a focus on supporting the local scene.
Matt Rogers
Matt has extensive experience in the world of cards. From a TCG player, retailer, distributor and also a co-owner of a card grading company. Matt is now half the Card Show Company, helping take our events to new heights.
